Our Karate

Welcome to the Karate Club at Kansas State University! We are dedicated to the practice of GoJu Ryu Karate, a traditional martial art that originated in Okinawa and is recognized as one of founding styles of karate. Our club is a supportive environment where members of all skill levels can learn, grow, and enhance their martial arts abilities. Join us as we promote discipline, respect, and physical fitness through the art of karate!

What is GoJu Ryu Style?

Okinawan Goju-Ryu is a style that blends the “hard” aspects of the native
Okinawan karate with the “soft” aspects found in some Chinese martial arts.
Goju-Ryu has traditionally not been taught for profit, so as not to water down the
technique due to a profit motive. But instead, has typically been taught voluntarily
teacher-to-student, motivated by a dedication and love of art and to preserve its
effectiveness.

Ready to Get Started?

Join Us for our Beginner Classes held every Monday and Wednesday from 7-8 P.M. in Room 227 at the K-State Student Union Building. These classes provide a supportive and engaging atmosphere for learning karate, suitable for all skill levels, and we aim to enhance your confidence, discipline, and physical fitness through out the journey.
